Scott Joplin first performed 'Rag-time Dance' in 1899 but the publication was delayed until 1902. The edition was not well received but a new edition with several changes was published in 1906. This arrangement is taken from the 1906 publication.
"Rag-time Dance" carries a subtitle of 'A Stop-Time Two Step' which directs the performer to 'Stomp' his heel on the floor in the last three sections. This should really give the piece a lift while aggravating some performers.
